Report Animal Abuse

Dogs in Car

If this is an emergency, please dial 911! If you see an animal in distress, call animal control at 209-966-3615. Animal abuse, cruelty, and neglect are all against the law in every state!

Intentional cruelty, or abuse is knowingly depriving an animal of food, water, shelter, or veterinary care, or maliciously torturing, maiming, mutilating, or killing an animal. It is a crime to abandon any animal or leave an animal tethered, or in a vehicle on a hot day. If you witness or suspect cruelty, it is your duty as a citizen to immediately report it to law enforcement at 209-966-3615.

You can learn how to recognize and report abuse. For information about animal cruelty, and domestic violence, click here.

Where there is animal abuse, there are often human family members suffering the horrors of domestic violence, too. Don’t stand for it! Let your voice be heard and report abuse, neglect, and cruelty to authorities.
